Course Content - Part A
Knowledge of the fundamental features of the Constitutional system, with special reference to: The sources of law; The forms of State and Government; The judicial review of legislation and the constitutional amendment process; The structure and functions of the Constitutional Institutions; The territorial autonomy; The relationship between national and EU law. A special attention will be devoted to the constitutional guarantee, judicial power, protection of Fundamental Rights and duties.
Course Content - Part B
Knowledge of the fundamental features of the Constitutional system, with special reference to: The sources of law; The forms of State and Government; The judicial review of legislation and the constitutional amendment process; The structure and functions of the Constitutional Institutions; The territorial autonomy; The relationship between national and EU law. A special attention will be devoted to the constitutional guarantee, judicial power and protection of Fundamental Rights.

Knowledges: Understanding of legal sources and development of the forms of State and of Government; The judicial review of legislation and the constitutional amendment process; Structure and functions of the Constitutional Bodies and of public administration: central and peripheral, regional and local; The Judiciary; Local authorities; Fundamental freedoms, their protection instruments and public duties; Relationships with the European Community Law.
Skills: Ability to face main constitutional issues, moving from an exact recognition of the relevant legislation.
Competences: Develop a sensibility towards the role played by the Constitution not only as a matter of study, but also as a necessary interpretive tool for ordinary legislation reference to the fundamental freedoms. Understanding of the constitutional values to be found in the 1948 Charter and of its lasting importance with respect to the Italian Republic. Constitutional concept of the notion of security. Understanding of the importance of the recognition of Constitutional control and, more in general, of the role of the Judiciary in a civil law environment.
