Course Content
The course will introduce students to Russian language from a theoretical-descriptive perspective by the professor (60 hours of frontal teaching) as well as practical exercises, strictly linked to the same topics, led by a mother tongue teacher (120 academic hours)

To form basic language skills, both written and oral, corresponding to the A2 level of CEF.The main ambits of interaction are: introduction and greetings, elementary topics of communication (university and library, family, city, free time, sports, etc.)

Frontal lessons, at times with the help pf the elearning platform. Lecturs courses in group provide exercises exclusively in Russian.

Type of Assessment
Regular written checks are scheduled to attest the level and quality of learning. At the end of the first and second semester checks will be held in the form of a lexico-grammatical test:passing these checks gives access to the oral exam.
Course program
Theoretical topics
1. Phonetics and phonology. Orthography.
Russian alphabet: background, block letters and italics, transliteration; letter and sound.
Vowels: strong and weak vowels.
Consoinants: sound and deaf consonants; Syllable and accent in woirds. The phenomenon of unstressed vowel reduction.
2. Five basic intonation models, linked to communicative contexts.
3. Morphology. Word composition. Name category. Categories of gender and number.
Declension: main meanings of the functional use of cases. Animate and inanimate nouns.
The adjective: strong and weak adjectives. Adjective concordance with the noun (in gender, number and case).
The pronoun: personal, demonstrative, possessive pronouns; the reflexive pronoun "sebja"; the reflexive-possessive pronoun "svoj".
The verb.
Russian verbal system. The categories of time and aspect. Modal verbs. Motion verbs without prefix.
4. The adverb.
5. The numerals: cardinal and ordinal numerals to express quantity, age, time (hour) and dates.
6. Syntax
Simple proposition. Subject category. Verbal and nominal predicate.
Complex proposition: the conjunctions "i", "a", "no". Relative subordinate clause ("kotoryj"). Temporal subordinate clause (“kogda”).
